JSA advised the Stripe Group (“Stripe”) one of the world’s most valued fintech companies, on its acquisition of Recko Inc and its Indian subsidiary Recko Software Private Limited (collectively, “Recko“). Founded in 2017 and based out of Bangalore, India, Recko has built a platform that lets businesses track and automate payments reconciliation, covering both outgoing and incoming payments and the full ecosystem of inbound and outbound payment sources and receivers. This is Stripe’s first acquisition in the country. The transaction involved complex deal structuring and documentation. JSA’s role in the transaction involved spearheading the due diligence at the India level, transaction structuring and documentation including in relation to the India leg of the transaction. JSA is also assisting with the closing of the transaction which is expected to be consummated in the next few weeks.

Archana has worked in private equity, capital markets and general corporate teams and has primarily worked on investments by private equity investors in unlisted companies and offerings of equities and securities by listed and unlisted companies.
Kumarmanglam is an equity partner of the firm and also heads the direct tax and regulatory practice at JSA. He has more than 25 years of experience in matters relating to direct taxation (including international taxation, transfer pricing, litigation, anti-avoidance laws, and M&A tax), accounting, and corporate laws including mergers and acquisition, joint ventures, foreign investments, market entry strategy, and corporate restructuring.
Manish has more than 23 years of experience in Indirect taxation across Industry, Consulting and law firms.
Minu has work experience of 19 years. Her practice area is General Corporate and Commercial with special focus on Labour and Employment, White Collar Crimes, FCPA, Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery, Disciplinary and Other Workplace Investigations, POSH, Ethics, HR, and Corporate Governance.
Shikha has over 10 years of diverse professional experience in handling Indirect tax, audit, accounts and general corporate financial affairs of various clients.
Vivek assumed office as the Joint Managing Partner of the Firm from January 2019. He has over 30 years of experience in areas of private equity, mergers and acquisitions, corporate commercial work and real estate advisory in India.
