JSA advised and assisted Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India and The World Bank on the preparation of the bid documents for the allocation of sea-bed lease rights for the development of offshore wind power projects.
Issued pursuant to the National Offshore Wind Policy, 2015 and Offshore Wind Energy Lease Rules, 2023, these bid documents for the first offshore wind power development projects to be undertaken in India, comprise a request for selection document, a concession agreement and separate lease agreements for both the survey and development stages of the project. The objective of this bidding process is to establish 4000 MW offshore wind energy as one of the green energy generation sources to contribute towards ‘Net Zero by 2070’ target of the country.
