JSA acted for Engel Holding Gesellschaft m.b.H (“Engel”) in its investment in Electronica Plastic Machines Limited (“EPML”), through a combination of primary and secondary funding. The transaction consummation is subject to customary conditions and approvals.
JSA’s assistance to Engel as Indian counsels includes conducting the legal, tax and real estate due diligence of EPML; the structuring, documentation, negotiation, and execution of the transaction documents; as well as legal support through to Closing.
Engel is a global manufacturer of plastic injection moulding machines and automation systems, headquartered in Schwertberg, Austria. The machinery manufactured by Engel has application across numerous industries, including automotive, electronics, and medical technology. This transaction represents the first inorganic investment by Engel into the Indian market. EPML is a leading manufacturer of injection moulding machines in the Indian market, based in Pune, Maharashtra.

Kumarmanglam is an equity partner of the firm and also heads the direct tax and regulatory practice at JSA. He has more than 25 years of experience in matters relating to direct taxation (including international taxation, transfer pricing, litigation, anti-avoidance laws, and M&A tax), accounting, and corporate laws including mergers and acquisition, joint ventures, foreign investments, market entry strategy, and corporate restructuring.
Preetha is a labour and employment law expert, having close to ten years of experience. She has over the past decade, worked on a wide range of complex and intricate labour law matters.
Saurya specialises in domestic and cross border corporate matters, with special focus on M&A, joint ventures, investments/fund raise, asset and business sale, commercial contracts, corporate compliance and strategic advisory.
Shareen specializes in indirect tax laws including Goods and Services Tax, Customs Law and Foreign Trade Policy and erstwhile indirect tax laws such as Value Added Tax Laws, Service Tax, Excise duty. Shareen has 19 years of experience in providing advisory and litigation support services to large corporates as well as start-ups.
Vivek assumed office as the Joint Managing Partner of the Firm from January 2019. He has over 30 years of experience in areas of private equity, mergers and acquisitions, corporate commercial work and real estate advisory in India.
