J. Sagar Associates (JSA) advised Oikocredit in its equity investment in Avanti Finance.
Oikocredit is a social impact investor and focusses on investments in sectors such as financial inclusion, agriculture and renewable energy. Founded in 2016 by Ratan Tata, Nandan Nilekani and economist Vijay Kelkar, Avanti Finance is a technology-enabled microfinance entity. Avanti is a digital financial inclusion platform operating under an NBFC and MFI license with a vision to make affordable financial services accessible to a 100 million unserved and underserved households. The co-investors in the round included Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Nomura.
