How and when did you know becoming a lawyer was your life’s true calling?
For me, deciding to practice law has been a journey, rather than a realisation at a definitive moment. The decision to write law entrances, and attend law-school, was part disenchantment with pre-engineering, and part a happy accident. From there, I have worked in Indian corporate law firms, experimented with teaching and academia, and also practiced in jurisdictions outside India – each providing a new piece in the puzzle, and adding nuance to my desire to be a lawyer.
Would you please tell us about your specialisation and the array of work you handle at your firm?
I focus on corporate transaction advisory, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate commercial transactions. I have extensive experience with cross border subscriptions and sales, business transfers, leveraged and structured acquisitions, and early stage investments. I have also advised on the structuring and establishment of onshore and offshore funds and investment vehicles, SPAC/de-SPAC deals, and international securities offerings by leading Indian issuers.
