Bhavya’s practice primarily focuses on employment law related matters, estate planning, commercial contracting, and general real estate advisory.

Bhavya works with several high net-worth families in connection with intergenerational wealth transfers and estate planning including private trust structures. She also represents several multinational and large groups on employment / white-collar matters including inquiry / termination procedures.

She is also a certified Chartered Trust and Estate Planner under the Board of American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM) India

Her employment law advisory work includes matters relating to recruitment, terms of appointment, conditions of service, secondment / deputation of expatriates to India, employee rights and entitlements, employee benefits, principal employer’s obligations towards contract labour, disciplinary enquiry against delinquent employees, employee termination, suspension, dismissals and conduct of POSH proceedings while serving on Internal Complaints Committees.

Bhavya has been practicing law since 2007. Prior to joining JSA, besides working with other reputed law firms, she was the co-founder and partner with a boutique law firm under the name ‘Commercial Law Advisors’ which merged with JSA, leading to JSA’s expansion in the Chennai / South Indian market.

  • Advised promoters of Aravind Eye Hospital moving objectives and operations of their public charitable trusts into Section 8 companies, enabling them to perform commercial operations without taking out profits, but without the constraints of applicable to a public trust.
  • Advised VA Tech Wabag, a leading company in the field of water treatment with regard to EPC and joint venture contracts globally.
  • Advised certain high net-worth families on family settlements involving creation of structured trusts and settlement documents.
  • Advised corporates / celebrities / sportspersons in connection with brand promotion agreements.
  • Advised on government tenders and related consortium agreements.
  • Advised companies in the manufacturing and IT industries on employment laws and various labour related matters.
