Recognizing the importance of effectively addressing the issue of workplace harassment in today’s virtual world, companies need to set the tone for anti-harassment at the top and re-visit their prevention of sexual harassment policy/procedures to clearly address the aspect of virtual harassment.
As traditional working models are being transformed, in the wake of the global pandemic, there has been an upsurge in complaints of virtual harassment. According to the National Commission for Women data, there has been a spike in the number of crimes against women following the lockdown.
