Social Loan Principles – What are they?
The social loan principles (“SLP”), published jointly by the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association, Loan Market Association and Loan Syndications and Trading Association, are voluntary guidelines for market participants vis-à-vis social loan products. The SLP have been formulated with reference to the ‘Social Bond Principles’ administered by the International Capital Markets Association. They endeavor to “create a high-level framework of market standards and guidelines, providing a consistent methodology for use across the social loan market”.
