Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) have been one of the best spurs for any organization’s robust growth, both strategically and economically.
However, these terms, which may sound compatible, have completely different and challenging legal contours. Whether it is the amalgamation of two business entities or a buyout of one by the other, various legal and regulatory spheres are involved, needing focused introspection and detailed work in respect of checks and balances.

The Legal Journey Right from the time a merger is sanctioned to its implementation, the legal roadmap has business signposts at every step. Only when the compliances meet the legal satisfaction, one proceeds further in a merger process. Often, there are delays in compliances which can lead to aborted M&As; given that it is out of sync with the business objectives envisaged at the start of the legal journey.
