JSA Advocates & Solicitors (JSA) has advised Evren (a development platform launched by Brookfield), as borrower’s legal counsel in relation to financial assistance aggregating to USD 600 million from a consortium of leading international lenders, including BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, DBS Bank Ltd., MUFG Bank, Ltd., Standard Chartered Bank and SMBC.
The financing will support the development of a large-scale, fully integrated Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project. The approximately 1 GW project combines solar, wind and battery storage infrastructure to deliver reliable, on-demand clean power.
Evren has partnered with NTPC under a long-term power purchase agreement for the supply of 300 MW of renewable power. Upon commissioning, the project is expected to generate approximately 2,400 GWh annually and offset over 1.5 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year, contributing to India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
The JSA team was led by Karan Mitroo, Partner, with support from Purvi Dabbiru, Partner and Harsh Dugar, Associate.
