With regard to Energy Projects, she has reviewed and drafted model power purchase agreement for State Governments, and power purchase agreements for leading power companies in India. She was also involved in conducting a due diligence on a power generating company which included power purchase agreements, fuel supply agreements and EPC contracts.
Nishta has advised the Government of India on preparation of strategies in respect of preparation, procurement and management of PPPs in India.

Swapneil focuses on fast-paced qualified institutions placements, and recent highlights include advising on the successful qualified institutions placements by Suprajit Engineering Limited (INR 1,499 million), Somany Ceramics Limited (INR 1,200 million), The Phoenix Mills Limited (INR 2,825 million), Capital First Limited (INR 3,000 million) and Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Limited (INR 8,096 million).
More recently, Swapneil has expanded his focus to include the public offer and listing of infrastructure investment trusts in India. Angsuman Dutta practices in the areas of Banking & Finance.

He also advises on regulatory compliances required in relation to various Infrastructure projects such as, establishing Coal based Thermal Power Plants, Wind Power Projects and laying of City Gas Distribution Network.
Apoorva has been involved in advising & representing various corporate entities involved in Generation, Distribution Trading, Transmission of Electricity, City Gas Distribution and Mining before various State Electricity Regulatory Commissions, Appellate Tribunals for Electricity, various High Courts and The Supreme Court of India.

Arjun’s practice focuses primarily on general corporate commercial matters including corporate acquisitions, business transfers and joint ventures and strategic alliances. Kumarmanglam has extensive experience in matters relating to direct and indirect taxation (including international taxation, transfer pricing, litigation and M&A tax), Accounting, and Corporate Law including mergers and acquisition, joint ventures, foreign investments, market entry strategy, and corporate restructuring.
Coming with a strong background in taxation he has dealt with several high profile cases involving international tax and corporate tax advisory. He has recently advised a Swiss multinational on issues arising out of an indirect acquisition and seeking a ruling from Advance Ruling Authority. He has advised a US multinational in implementing a tax efficient transaction resulting from a global split. He has recently advised on high pitched tax litigation before Dispute Resolution Panel as well as Income Tax Appellate Tribunal level. He is also engaged in representing clients in tax advocacy before the government for bringing in changes in fiscal laws.
As part of his M&A experience, Kumarmanglam has worked on several acquisitions and asset purchase matters. He recently led advisory to a US corporation on acquisition of business of an Indian manufacturing company across several jurisdictions. He has also assisted a listed media company in a business hive-off matter. He has also worked on several Private Equity and strategic acquisitions.

Vaibhav is an experienced Competition / Antitrust lawyer with more than six years’ experience as a qualified lawyer. He represents and advises clients on a broad range of Competition Law matters, and has been handling some of the high profile litigation cases at Competition Commission of India, including Director General (Investigation) and also at the appellate court, High Courts & Supreme Court of India.
He advises multinational corporations in relation to a whole range of Competition issues (contentious as well as advisory) in a variety of sectors. He routinely advises a number of multinational corporations and industry associations on their Competition compliance and dawn raid programmes. He has also advised & represented companies on cases relating to cartel leniency.
Vaibhav also advises on M&A transactions from the Competition Law perspective, by devising their merger control strategy, combining commercial, legal and often political considerations to maximise the chance of a successful outcome. Prior to attending law school, Manav gained valuable experience in Capital Markets at the Mumbai offices of Standard Chartered Mutual Fund (now IDFC Mutual Fund) and Merrill Lynch.
Shashank’s practice covers the entire gamut of Investments & Acquisitions, in Energy and infrastructure Projects.
During the course of his practice he has advised domestic & international project developers, Private Equity funds, lenders, institutional investors, and multilateral & bilateral agencies on Private Equity investments, Joint Ventures & strategic Acquisition (greenfield & brownfield) across a diverse array of verticals in the Infrastructure sector including Energy (conventional / thermal and renewable), Transportation (roads & national highways, ports, airports, BRTS / MRTS), Oil & Gas and Urban Infrastructure.
Shashank advises clients on all aspects of power purchase agreements, fuel supply & transport arrangements, EPC and O&M contracts, and mine developer & operator contracts. He also regularly advises project developers on the bidding & procurement process involved in major Public Private Partnership Projects.
He was part of the team that advised the Asian Development Bank in its largest investment in the Renewable Energy space in India.
Before joining JSA, he was with Trilegal, Mumbai where he worked with the Corporate and Projects practice groups; and Khaitan & Co, Mumbai where he was a member of the Energy, Infrastructure & Resources practice group.
Hormuz specializes in Dispute Resolution, White Collar crimes and General Corporate Commercial Litigation.
He has extensive knowledge in Dispute Resolution from International Commercial Arbitrations to criminal frauds in local courts. He has varied experience in Litigation matters including corporate frauds, bail & anticipatory bail applications, medical negligence, scams, economic espionage, internet fraud and perjury.
In addition, he has experience in International Commercial Arbitrations under various international institutions such as the ICC, DIAC and LCIA.
Before re-joining JSA, he was for two years as a counsel in the Bombay High Court with criminal counsel Mr. Aabad Ponda. He was also a Case Manager at the Dubai International Arbitration Centre for 2 years, before which he was an Associate with JSA in the Mumbai & Dubai offices.
Ela focusses on Regulatory & Policy, with an emphasis on Competition Law Litigation.
She has been involved in representing clients before the Competition Commission of India and has worked on diverse Competition matters including abuse of dominance cases, cartel investigations and merger filings.
Ela has also assisted in creating Competition compliance programmes for corporate houses.
Prior to joining JSA, Ela has gained valuable experience in the area of Competition law through her previous internships.
Daksh’s practice covers diverse areas of Corporate Commercial and Capital Markets.
He has advised clients on issues under the Companies Act, Foreign Exchange Management Act (including the FDI Policy) and SEBI Act. He has also advised on Service Tax issues for various structures and setting up of an online or offline gambling unit in India.
He has recently been involved in development of the education practice of JSA and has advised clients in Higher Education.
Daksh has also assisted in the rsearch and drafting of the India chapter of an M&A handbook for an International Law Firm.
Zain’s practice covers diverse areas of Corporate Commercial including Mergers & Acquisitions, Foreign Direct Investment, Business Transfers and General Corporate Advisory.
He has recently been involved in the development of the Education practice of JSA and has advised clients on a multitude of issues surrounding Education in India.
Zain’s scope of work includes conducting legal Due Diligence and drafting and vetting of various commercial agreements such as Business Transfer Agreements, IP Assignment Agreements and Lease Deeds.
Kunal’s practice covers Civil, Regulatory & Constitutional Dispute Resolution in various areas of Infrastructure Litigation in Electricity and Airport Regulations. He represents clients in diverse fora including the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi, Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (ATE / APTEL) and the Airport Economic Regulation Appellate Tribunal (AERAAT).
He is involved in various aspects of Dispute Resolution including evaluation of contractual arrangements / regulatory and legal framework to facilitate compliance and advising clients on processes to avoid / mitigate risks in the conduct of business; providing strategic advice & opinions; drafting pleadings, briefing counsel; appearing & conducting matters – both on original and appellate stages.
