Akshaya has 16+ years of PQE. She focuses on technology laws, privacy & data protection, corporate & commercial contracts, general corporate and employment matters. She is also a member of the POSH committees of various companies. She advises many early stage and growth companies on designing standard agreements, review and closure of global commercial agreements and general corporate matters. She also advises enterprises operating in various sectors on compliance with privacy and data protection laws. Akshaya is a DSCI Certified Data Protection Officer.
Prior to joining JSA, Akshaya was a Partner with a boutique law firm, Commercial Law Advisors (CLA), which merged with JSA, leading to JSA’s expansion in the Chennai/South Indian market. Prior to CLA, she was Director-Legal and a key member of the leadership team at Freshworks. Prior to Freshworks, she was with JSA.
Akshaya is an alumnus of ILS Law College, Pune. Akshaya has mentored many startups in setting up their legal and privacy functions and has presented at various industry events and forums like MCCI, IACC and IAPP. She has been a regular mentor at the Techstars Start-up Weekend, Chennai.
