Kumar Kislay, Principal Associate, JSA

Kumar Kislay has been practicing law since the year 2013 and focuses on Infrastructure practice, Corporate-Commercial Litigations, and White-Collar Offences.

He has represented Firm’s Clients at Supreme Court, High Court, National Company Law Tribunals, National Company Law Tribunal, Debt Recovery Tribunals, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, District Courts and various quasi-judicial bodies. He has worked extensively in the writ jurisdiction.

Kumar has acted in high stake shareholders disputes, tribunal approved mergers and white-collar offences and civil suits. He has also handled complex issues of insolvency and creditors dispute. He regularly advises clients in domestic and international arbitrations.

Before joining JSA, Kumar was working as independent counsel before Delhi High Court.

Some of the key assignments in these areas handled and being handled by Kumar amongst others, cover the following:-

  • Acting and advising a leading foreign real estate company in shareholder disputes with Indian shareholders/partners in JV. The legal issues involved are oppression, mismanagement, breach of fiduciary duty and fraud by erstwhile directors and majority shareholders.
  • Acting on behalf of directors of a public company in actions initiated by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and other Government Agencies on the allegation of cheating, fraud, money laundering etc.
  • Advising foreign shareholders in criminal proceedings initiated before EOW and Crime Branch against Indian promoter directors.
  • Acting and advising a foreign shareholder at NCLT proceedings and SIAC governed arbitration and mediation.
  • Acting and advising a large real estate company in proceeding initiated by investor-cum-shareholder under Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
  • Advising a multination software technology company in its global restructuring.
