Developments in Competition Law during March 2022

In the month of March, the Bombay High Court stayed CCI’s inquiry against Debenture Trustees and Star/ Disney on jurisdictional challenge. The CCI dismissed cases against Amazon, Shopee, Inox India and top automobile manufacturers for indulging in alleged anti-competitive practices. Further, it imposed penalties on Tata Power and Adani Green Energy for gun-jumping. The other notable developments include:

  • Extension of ‘Small Target Exemption’ by the Central Government.
  • Revision of long-form notification (Form II) for Combinations by the CCI.
  • Amendments to confidentiality provisions in the General Regulations by the CCI.
