Rakesh focuses on Corporate Commercial, Regulatory and Policy matters in various sectors. He works for several IT, ITES, BPO and Technology Enabled operations of multinationals, including those in the regulated space. His experience involves, advising on setting up operations in India, corporate/business structuring and commercial contracting, regulatory advice on telecom licensing and compliance requirements in India, advice on setting up STPI’s (Software Technology Parks of India) and SEZ’s (Special Economic Zone) and general legal issues involving Telecom and IT companies.
Rakesh also advises domestic and international clients on foreign exchange regulations and general corporate laws in India, and has been involved in conducting legal due diligences, drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and transaction documents.
In addition, he has extensive experience in assisting clients on real estate transactions by way of lease or leave & license.
He has been practicing law since 2008. Before joining JSA, he was with Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co.
