Arun is a Partner with JSA in the firm’s Delhi NCR offices.

In his practice of over 20 years, Arun has extensive experience in advising clients across sectors like construction, infrastructure, renewable energy (solar and wind), transmission projects, datacentres, climate change, social infrastructure, natural resources & mining, construction & heavy engineering, public-private partnerships, urban infrastructure, water, waste management, ports, airports, highways, transportation, leisure & hospitality, and residential, commercial and industrial real estate.

His diverse experience in advising on project lifecycle positions him to provide comprehensive legal advice and representation from project inception to exit. Arun’s client base includes government authorities, domestic and multinational developers, contractors, project operators, lenders, and sponsors.

In the real estate sector, Arun represents a variety of funds, multinational companies, lenders, borrowers, hospitality & retail chains, institutional and non-institutional real estate investors, developers and operators on acquisition and development of real estate projects – residential, commercial and industrial, land aggregation for townships, data centres, warehouses, cement plants, retail, leisure & hospitality, and renewable energy projects.

EXPERIENCE

Arun has also been involved in several public-private partnership (PPP) projects with Government authorities in sectors such as airports, highways, water supply, waste management and energy projects.

He has been involved in advising on risk identification and risk mitigation in tenders and contracts in infrastructure sectors such as airports, energy, waste management, roads & highways, leisure & hospitality, and commercial and residential real estate development.

In infrastructure projects, he has represented developers, financial and strategic investors in transactions involving the purchase or sale of infrastructure assets, including large portfolios deals, single-asset deals and joint ventures. He has been regularly advising his clients on large project related contracts (including EPC/ other construction contracts, subcontracts, tender documents, concession agreements, O&M agreements, offtake agreements, commercial agreements, etc.), contract administration and management, pre-dispute strategies, claims and delay analysis, and claims negotiations, regulatory matters, M&A, investments, and joint ventures in varied infrastructure sectors.

Arun also advises domestic and international companies on large scale land diligence, and land acquisition across India for projects that are being developed by such companies. He regularly advises on title due diligences, security creation and enforcement as part of lending/investment transactions, leasing, sale/purchase, structuring, drafting and negotiation of real estate agreements.
