India’s Revised Mapping Policy

The Department of Science and Technology has recently issued guidelines on the acquisition and production of geospatial data and services, including maps (“2021 Guidelines”). The 2021 Guidelines supersede anything contrary contained in previous policies issued by the Government of India and mark a paradigm shift in India’s policies on mapping and the collection, dissemination and use of geospatial data.

For a summary of the key changes introduced by the 2021 Guidelines, please refer to the below document.
