Sanjana Pandey

Sanjana is a part of the disputes practice of the firm and focuses on civil and commercial litigation, and insolvency. Her disputes practice extends to the Supreme Court of India, the High Courts, City Civil Courts, National Company Law Appellate Tribunals, National Company Law Tribunals, Debts Recovery Tribunals, Real Estate Appellate Tribunal, among others.

She also has experience in dealing with domestic and international arbitrations.

Sanjana has been practising law since 2021. Before joining JSA, she was associated with Krishnamurthy & Co., Advocates and Menon & Mankava, Advocates.

Some of the key assignments in these areas handled and being handled by Sanjana amongst others, cover the following: –

  • Advising domestic and international entities on legal, policy and regulatory issues in the nuclear energy sector in India.
  • Advised and represented a construction company in a suit filed by sub-contractor before the Bombay High Court.
  • Advised and represented a production house in a Singapore International Arbitration Centre administered arbitration.
  • Advised and represented a bond-holder in a challenge to the scheme of amalgamation of a public sector bank before the Madras High Court. Also, represented a separate amalgamated bank in defending a challenge to its amalgamation scheme before the Bombay High Court.
  • Advised the liquidator of a multinational travel company on the company’s liquidation process and appeared on their behalf before various courts/tribunals in India. Also, advised and represented a consortium of lenders, including banks and other financial institutions, in disputes arising from several legal issues involved in the corporate insolvency resolution process of a pharmaceutical company.
  • Advised and represented a transaction management company, a successful bidder, in defending a challenge to the tender process conducted by a public sector bank before the Bombay High Court. Also, advised and represented a financial advisory company against non-payment of its dues in accordance with the tender awarded by a public sector bank.
  • Advised and appeared on behalf of employees of a defense solutions company before the National Company Law Tribunal in insolvency proceedings initiated by the employees against the company.
  • Advised and appeared on behalf of a developer against claims made by homebuyers for delayed possession of flats before various tribunals/courts.
