Pranav Satyam

Pranav is a Partner in the Competition Law Practice in JSA.

He is a merger control specialist and has handled a large number of high-profile merger control matters. Pranav regularly advises clients on key merger control aspects of their proposed transactions.

On the enforcement side, he has defended clients across sectors including media, seeds, mechanical components / parts manufacturers for railways, before the Competition Commission of India (CCI).

Pranav is defending Century (part of the Aditya Birla conglomerate) before the Supreme Court in the alleged cement cartel case.

Pranav represents a major pharmaceutical manufacturer before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) in the alleged pharmaceutical cartel case.

Prior to joining the Law firm, Pranav worked as Deputy Director with the CCI, in the Combination Division (Merger Enforcement). During his stint in the CCI in the Merger Enforcement, Pranav led M&A reviews for transactions relating to diverse sectors such as Agrochemicals, Agricultural Seeds, Media and Broadcasting, Civil Aviation, IT & ITeS, E-Commerce, Shipping, Chemical, Automobile Spare Parts and Packaging.

Pranav is a qualified lawyer and a trained economist and brings a multi-disciplinary approach to competition law.
