Angad Baxi, Partner – Dispute Resolution at JSA Advocates & Solicitors

Angad is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution practice at JSA, Advocates & Solicitors and a qualified Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India. He specialises in complex, high-stakes disputes, with a practice that combines courtroom advocacy with strategic risk management and crisis response.

Angad is widely recognised for his sector-focused expertise in the pharmaceutical and food industries, where he regularly advises and represents leading domestic and multinational companies on regulatory, commercial and enforcement-related disputes. His practice in this space includes matters arising under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, pricing and control regimes such as the Drug Price Control Order (DPCO), and allied regulatory frameworks, as well as disputes and compliance advisory under the Food Safety and Standards Act and regulations framed by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). He routinely assists clients in navigating product liability risks, regulatory investigations, labelling and licensing issues, and enforcement actions, often in situations involving parallel civil, criminal and regulatory exposure.

In addition, Angad has a strong intellectual property litigation practice, advising on and representing clients in contentious trademark, copyright and design disputes, including enforcement and anti-counterfeiting actions, as well as disputes involving technology, data and proprietary rights. He has been involved in several cutting-edge and high-value IP disputes, including matters with significant commercial and reputational implications.

Angad also specialises in shareholder and corporate disputes, including promoter conflicts, joint venture disputes, oppression and mismanagement proceedings, and disputes arising out of mergers and acquisitions. His work in this area is closely aligned with his broader experience in insolvency and restructuring, creditor-debtor disputes, and complex contractual claims.

A significant part of his practice is dedicated to white-collar crime, regulatory enforcement and investigations. He regularly advises and represents corporations, boards, senior management and high-net-worth individuals in sensitive matters involving allegations of fraud, corruption, financial irregularities and economic offences. His experience includes representing clients before investigative and enforcement agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate, Economic Offences Wing and State Police authorities, as well as advising on proceedings involving sectoral regulators including SEBI, RBI and PFRDA. He has successfully secured reliefs for clients in criminal proceedings, including bail, quashing of First Information Reports and charge sheets, release of properties and unfreezing of bank accounts.

The nature of Angad’s practice demands not only courtroom expertise but also the ability to devise and implement comprehensive dispute resolution strategies, including pre-litigation and pre-arbitration risk mitigation. He is particularly regarded for his role in crisis management, assisting clients in navigating high-pressure situations involving regulatory scrutiny, parallel proceedings and media attention, while safeguarding business continuity.
