Mahek’s principal area of practice is real estate and dispute resolution in various sectors.

He has extensive experience in Real Estate matters which includes drafting of various non litigation documents such as Title Certificates, Title Due Diligences, Development Agreement, Leave & License Agreement, Tenancy Agreement, Term Sheet,  MOU, Conveyance, Agreement for sale, Deed of Transfer, Deed of Apartment, Deed of Indemnity, Power of Attorney, Deed of Release, Deed of Gift, Public Notices, etc.

Mahek has been part in a number of writ petitions (civil & criminal), suits, summary suits, IPR suit, Company Petition, Public Interest Litigation and arbitration proceedings as well as in the drafting of pleadings, replies, legal notices, opinions, complaints, RERA Complaints. He has experience of appearing before the Bombay High Court, City Civil Court, Small Causes Court, Debt Recovery Tribunal and Debt Recovery Appellate Tribunal.

He is a qualified Solicitor. Before joining JSA, he was with Wadia Ghandy & Co., Mumbai one of India’s oldest law firms.

In the past, he has been involved in the following matters-

  • Issuance of phase wise Title Certificate for land admeasuring approximately 120 acres i.e. 4,83,802 sq. mtrs, situated in Taluka Vasai, District Palghar, Maharashtra.
  • Due Diligence relating to Title of a land admeasuring 2,00,000 sq. mtrs. in Thane, Maharashtra
  • Issuance of Title Certificate relating to land admeasuring 57,410 sq. mtrs in Vasai, Maharashtra.
  • Writ Petitions and Public Interest Litigations that had been filed in respect of the height restriction of buildings that are constructed around the Mumbai Airport.
  • Writ Petitions and Public Interest Litigations relating to alleged scam pertaining to the Adarsh CHS ltd., involving various issues such as Title, FSI Violations, Security concerns, etc. on behalf on Indian Army, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Environment and Forest.
  • Proceedings arising from Collision of two ships on high seas and involving Admiralty Laws, on behalf of Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard, Ministry of Defence.
  • SEBI-Sahara matter relating to Securities Laws before the Securities Appellate Tribunal on behalf of Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
