Daksh Ahluwalia

Daksh’s practice covers diverse areas of general corporate commercial and mergers & acquisition. He is particularly known for his work in real estate regulatory matters. Daksh has advised clients on a variety of corporate law issues including inbound and outbound investment, joint ventures, and acquisitions of private and public companies in India.

Daksh joined the firm as an associate twelve years ago. In 2013, Daksh completed his LL.M. as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar from Columbia Law School, Columbia University (CLS). After his graduation from CLS, he re-joined JSA.

Recently, he also served as the Co-Chair of the Law and Justice Committee of the PHD Chambers. In April 2021, he completed the Harvard Negotiation Master Class by the Harvard Law School’s Program of Negotiation.

Some of the key assignments in these areas handled and being handled by Daksh amongst others cover the following: –

  • Advising Emaar Properties PJSC in the re- organisation of various businesses of Emaar MGF Land Limited (its joint venture company), holding development rights to approximately 8,500 acres of land across India.
  • Advising ICRA Limited, a company listed on the BSE and NSE for sale of its stake in its wholly owned subsidiary, ICRA Techno Analytics Limited (ICTEAS), to Nihilent Technologies Limited for INR 687.5 million.
  • Advising Nokia Corporation in the India leg of its global acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent.
  • Advising MPS Limited in the acquisition of ‘Tata Interactive Systems’, a division of Tata Industries Limited
  • Advising Emaar Properties PJSC, Airbnb India, Kronos India, Sobha Limited, Franklin Fueling, SAP India, INVISTA India, and several other clients on corporate law, real estate and regulatory requirements in India.
  • Advising Franklin Fueling in its acquisition of a majority stake in the joint venture with Wadcorpp India Private Limited.
  • Advising Mercer on its acquisition of Induslynk Training Services (Mettl) and India Life Capital.
