Arpita Garg

Arpita’s key focus areas are banking & finance and corporate commercial. Her practice areas include debt capital markets, securities advisory and lending/finance advisory. She is also considered an expert on debt financing through debt and debt-like instruments, project finance, debt restructuring and insolvency, securitisation and asset reconstruction. 

Arpita has advised several domestic and international clients in banking & finance related transactions including syndicated lending (secured & unsecured), domestic & external commercial borrowings, project financing, acquisition financing and debt restructuring. She has also advised clients on exchange control laws, security creation and general corporate commercial laws.

Some of her recent work includes: 

  • Advised Asian Development Bank (ADB) in connection with a secured non-sovereign loan facility aggregating USD 500 million to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) 
  • Advised IndusInd Bank Limited in connection with a term loan facility aggregating INR 2.50 billion with a sub limit of OD and LC facility to a real estate company 
  • Advised Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited (as arranger), in relation to (i) issue of Non- Convertible Debentures aggregating INR 1.25 billion by Hero Wind Energy Private Limited, and (ii) issue of Non-Convertible Debentures aggregating INR 1.75 billion by Hero Solar Energy Private Limited, on a private placement basis 
  • Advised TRL Riceland Pvt. Ltd. for unsecured Rupee denominated bonds issuance (“Masala Bonds”) to certain overseas investors

Before joining JSA, Arpita was working with ICICI Bank Limited, Mumbai in the Corporate Legal Department. During her time spent at ICICI Bank, Arpita worked on various corporate financing and project lending projects to multinational and domestic companies.
