Abraham’s primary area of practice is dispute resolution including litigation and arbitration as well as alternative dispute resolution in diverse areas of corporate and commercial, engineering and construction, energy, and civil disputes before Courts, Quasi-Judicial Authorities and Arbitral Tribunals.
His practice areas also include regulatory and policy matters with an emphasis on the solar and thermal energy sector.
Some of his recent assignments include:
- Advised and represented a leading real estate fund, in arbitration proceedings relating to disputes arising out of a shareholders’ agreement with respect to a large scale residential development project in Chennai
- Advised and represented a large solar power producer in proceedings instituted before the High Court, Madras against the State Licensee for illegal backing down of solar plants in Tamil Nadu
- Abraham was a part of the team that successfully advised and represented one of the leading soft-drink manufacturers in the country before the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court, in a writ petition filed against it seeking stoppage of supply of river water to the manufacturer
- He was a part of the team that successfully advised and represented the Port Department, Government of Puducherry, in arbitration proceedings initiated by Pondicherry Port limited, claiming a sum in excess of INR 10 billion towards damages on account of termination of a Concessionaire Agreement
Abraham has been practising law since 2011. He was previously working with M/s Vichar Partners in Chennai.
