Shaswata’s practice covers areas of Banking & Finance, Debt Capital Markets (both onshore and offshore), Infrastructure Investment Trusts, Investment Funds and General Corporate.
In the area of Banking & Finance, he has advised Indian and multinational banks, multilateral institutions, non-banking finance companies and financial institutions in relation to (i) credit facilities to Indian borrowers, (ii) credit facilities to overseas subsidiaries of Indian entities, (iii) legality and requisite compliance in relation to proposed banking products to be offered, which are compliant with Indian exchange control and banking regulations.
In the area of Debt Capital Markets, he has advised banks, non-banking financial companies, financial institutions and corporates in connection with private placement of NCDS (both listed and unlisted) and issuance of offshore bonds by Indian companies.
He also advises various corporates in structuring, setting up, formation and registration of infrastructure investment trusts and alternative investment funds.
Shaswata is also has been an editor of Indian Yearbook of International Law & Policy, published by Satyam Law International and also contributes articles to national newspapers and blogs.
