Mayank’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial disputes, particularly, shareholders’ disputes, minority protection and disputes relating to investments by PE funds and other entities in companies.
Over the last 12 years, Mayank has developed considerable expertise in this area of practice before the National Company Law Tribunal (formerly, the Company Law Board), Company Courts and has represented variety of clients including private equity funds, foreign investors, other minority investors and promoters in their corporate disputes. He regularly represents clients before the Tribunal, Appellate Tribunal and the Company Court.
Mayank advises and represents clients in commercial arbitrations, both domestic and foreign seated ones, arising out of Shareholders’ Agreements, Concession Agreements, other Investment Agreements and a few EPC contracts. He has also conducted Institutional arbitrations outside India. He frequently represents clients before the District Courts, High Courts and Supreme Court of India in matters arising out of commercial transactions, company disputes and in matters related to arbitration proceedings. He has also advised and represented several clients in actions for interim relief in aid of arbitration, challenging arbitral awards and enforcement of domestic and foreign awards in Indian Courts.
Mayank works closely with the Securities and Capital market team of the firm and has also represented clients before Courts in matters relating to securities market, principally, appellate proceedings arising out of orders of the SEBI and the Securities Appellate Tribunal.
Mayank also advises and represents firm’s clients in matters relating to recovery of debt and enforcement of security interest.
