Mansoor heads the Communications (Telecom & Broadcasting) practice in JSA.
He specialises in Commercial, Civil, Regulatory and Constitutional Dispute Resolution in diverse fora including the Supreme Court of India, High Courts of various states, District Courts, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal, the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, State Electricity Regulatory Commissions, Competition Commission of India, Competition Appellate Tribunal, Arbitral Tribunals, conciliation boards and other ADR mechanisms. He has worked with the regulatory team of an international law firm in London where his focus was on Competition & Telecommunications Law.
Mansoor handles various aspects of Dispute Resolution including evaluation of contractual arrangements / regulatory & legal framework to facilitate compliance and advising clients on processes to avoid / mitigate risks in conduct of business; providing strategic advice & opinions; drafting pleadings, briefing counsel; appearing & conducting matters – both on original & appellate stages. He advises and represents diverse entities in proceedings before the Company Law Board, Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices (MRTP) Commission, concerned licensing, regulatory, judicial / quasi judicial authorities.
He has acquired insights in handling Regulatory & Commercial matters related to the Communications & Broadcasting Electricity sector; Mergers & Amalgamation petitions; Arbitration and ADR relating to pipeline contracts and hydroelectric projects; disputes arising from Joint Venture agreements, Real Estate transactions, criminal proceedings and infringement of Trade / Property marks.
Mansoor has been advising and representing companies in the Communications sector on diverse legal, Policy, Regulatory issues and has been representing them before TDSAT, as also the Supreme Court in various disputes. Among various assignments, Mansoor led the team which advised and represented two leading Telecom Companies in the 2G spectrum matter before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
